Despite only being at the team for a short period, new McLaren signing Sergio Perez says he is already learning from his World Champion team-mate.
Perez signed for the team as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton and got his first taste of the 2013 car at the Jerez test last week. The Mexican says he is excited to be working with the 2009 World Champion.
“I’m very lucky driver to have a champion next to me as well as such a good guy,” Perez said. “We are working so well together and I’ve been learning so much from him in my short [McLaren] career. Definitely the pressure is there, the team expects a lot from me and I expect the same; I want to go out there and win the championship and fight everybody. I will work together with Jenson to learn a lot from him and I think we are doing very well.”
Perez is ten years younger than Button will be hoping to challenge him for race victories in 2013.
