The confusion surrounding the German Grand Prix has finally ended, with the Nurburgring today confirmed as hosting the 2013 German Grand Prix
Amid months of speculation after the circuit declared bankruptcy in 2012, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone officially announced the circuit would see Formula 1 return for the first time since 2011.
“I treasure the Nurburgring and its history,” Ecclestone said in a statement on Thursday. “In view of its long tradition, I was glad to support choosing the Nurburgring as the venue for the Formula One.”
The race will now take it’s place on July 7th on the calendar. A decision over a replacement for the New Jersey Grand Prix is yet to be announced.
